Oil, Acrylic paintings & Mixed Media

Paintings are usually referred to in terms of the medium used. Oils on canvas or board remain the most commonly seen works on the market but many modern artists have favoured acrylics or combinations of different paints.

De Heem returns home via Van Haeften

This still life by Dutch artist Cornelis de Heem (1631-95) has been returned to its historical home, The National Trust’s Dyrham Park in Gloucestershire. The painting was bought through London dealer Johnny Van Haeften for £574,000.
