Delegates who have signed up for the day, which is co-sponsored by the Antiques Trade Gazette and e-business insurance specialists SafeOnLine, include provincial auctioneers from both very small and rather large firms, representatives of the London auctioneers, insurance underwriters, specialist brokers, Internet companies specialising in fine arts and antiques, solicitors, direct marketing companies, publishers, loss adjusters, valuers, professional organisations, and restorers.
In addition the geographical spread is broad including delegates from Paris, Edinburgh, Yorkshire, the Midlands and the South. Delegates include the technically savvy and those who are genuinely “bewildered and confused”.
“The conference and exhibition stands are reaching capacity. We have definitely struck a chord. SafeOnLine have already offered sponsorship to Drummond Read for a similar event next year,” the organisers tell us.

Auctioneers' Web conference strikes a strong chord
UK: PLACES for the one-day conference on Internet Options for the Auctioneer at Southampton Institute on February 7 are almost fully booked, and organisers Drummond Read are already planning a follow-up event for next year.
