South Yorkshire auctioneer Alan Blakeman had amassed some 372 lots for the Sunday sale at Elsecar and a good turnout plus the usual postal bidders brought a total of just under £19,000.
Cornishware took the top prices but there was also a punchy £420 bid for a Domino Ware Man In The Moon chocolate jug.

UK: CORNISHWARE may be at the lower-priced end of the ceramics market but there is no shortage of enthusiasm as was evident when this 71/4in (18.5cm) jar, illustrated here, sold at £600 at the ‘Kitchenalia’ sale held by niche-market specialist BBR (10 per cent buyer’s premium) on May 20.
