Recently she became a trustee of Paintings in Hospitals. This charity, of which Prince Charles is Patron, loans original works of art to hospitals, hospices and health centres for the enjoyment of patients, staff and visitors.

Caroline tells me there are a number of ways anyone so inclined can help her support the charity. For example, if you have run out of space for any paintings or prints which would brighten up a hospital corridor you could always donate them.

Or, if you know of a hospital or health centre crying out for some colour and vitality then let the dealer have the name and telephone number of someone there so the charity can make contact to arrange a viewing for a possible loan.

If you wish to become a Friend of Paintings in Hospitals for £25 a year you can bolster the good works and enjoy special events and talks.
If you wish to help ring Caroline Wiseman on 020 7587 0747.

Meanwhile, Wiseman Originals holds its Summer Exhibition at 34 West Square, London SE11 until the end of July. It is centred on new acquisitions by Sir Howard Hodgkin but includes a large selection of works by other major international artists with prices from £200 to £200,000.
