The V&A show runs at the museum’s new Contemporary Space and was selected by V&A curators who went to Milan, so for the first time the British public can see the hottest items from the Italian global showcase of cutting-edge design.
They filled a furniture removal van with more than 80 new products launched in Milan by international companies such as Magis, Alessi and Edra featuring the latest work of top design stars like Tom Dixon, Ingo Maurer and Marcel Wanders.
There is a section devoted to up and coming designers, the prototype stars of the future who include the Bourellec Brothers, Matali Crasset and Pia Wallen.
The exhibits are accompanied by trade literature to give a taste of the immediacy and excitement of the Milan Fair.
