It will carry an estimate of €2000-3000 when Hamilton Osbourne King decamp to Slane Castle in the Boyne Valley to sell chattels from the Langham family collections.

Offered in 850 lots the projected €1m sale comprises a typical country house mix of ancestral portraits and family heirlooms from two properties. The Langham family originate from Northamptonshire where John Langham bought the family seat Cottesbrooke Hall in 1635. However, by the late 19th century fortunes had changed and Sir Charles Langham moved to his wife Ethel's estate in Co. Fermanagh.

HOK will conduct the sale on behalf of Lady Langham (wife of the 15th baronet who died in 2002) who is best known in the antiques trade as a Belleek specialist.
