From June 4 to 6, the first annual Dulwich Art Fair will take place at Dulwich College, London SE21.
Initially Caroline envisaged 30 galleries but she had no trouble whatsoever selling stands and the fair is full with 42 exhibitors and a waiting list.
A wide range of work will be on sale, covering contemporary paintings, original prints, photography, sculpture and studio ceramics.
Prices stretch from less than £30 up to the £5000 mark.
Among those showing is The Gallery of Illustration from nearby Crystal Palace, who have an enticing stock of original artwork by many of the 20th century’s most celebrated illustrators; Ingrid Nilson from Kent; the Wren Gallery from Burford and the Eden Gallery from Newquay.
Admission is £4.
Dulwich, which is a wealthy area with a famous art gallery, is part of Caroline’s game plan to sell art in affluent areas of the capital. She has been running the Chelsea Art Fair for nine years and is looking at a new art fair in Hampstead next year.

AS if there are not enough fairs in June in London, busy Sussex organiser Caroline Penman has decided to launch another, but at least this is far from the centre of town and does not tread on the toes of any of the established events.
