Mr Morris, 51, is best known in the trade as the chief executive of Earls Court and Olympia, a position he relinquished last May when his family sold the exhibition complex to a property fund in a £245m deal.

Although Mr Morris remained as non-executive chairman of EC&O, many will be surpised that, as leader of a consortium who made a reputed £60m on the deal after five years ownership, he has taken another job.

His new position makes him head of the UK’s biggest exhibitions group and he retains links with antiques through the ‘Everyone’ fairs in Birmingham, Glasgow and London.
