As reported in Antiques Trade Gazette 1622, January 17, the vacancy has been created as part of a wider reshuffle to allow group managing director Malcolm Barber to concentrate on building business in the United States. He had previously divided his time between London and San Francisco following Bonhams’ acquisition of Butterfields.
James Knight is now head of Bonhams’ Bond Street operation taking up the reins from Roger Hollest who recently completed an interim term in the role at the company’s flagship saleroom.

Mr Hollest now becomes chairman of Bonhams’ UK regional board of directors. This move does not affect Bob Bleasdale’s position as UK regional chief executive.
Meanwhile Jeremy Waite, who previously worked for Sotheby’s in Billingshurst and Salisbury, has become regional director for Bonhams in East Anglia, overseeing the company’s Athenaeum and county sales.

In March Mr Waite will be at the helm for one of East Anglia’s most important sales when Bonhams sells the £1m Banningham collection in Norfolk.
