The documented plate by William Billingsley’s short-lived factory near Cardiff depicts three young ladies in Regency dress believed to be the daughters of Thomas Coutts, banker to George III. It is expected to realise between £6000-9000.
The Malvern sale also includes a fine example of Billingsley’s work at the Derby factory.
A tureen, cover and stand with botanical flower decoration attributed to the artist – damaged but similar to an example in the V&A – carries an estimate of £5000-8000.
