Thieves struck the Top Banana Antiques Mall in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, on May 6, taking the clocks after unscrewing the display cabinet. According to the owner, three people were involved.

As with the theft at Banbury Antique Centre two weeks before, the thieves showed no fear of being caught on video security cameras. On that occasion expensive jewellery was taken after two people drew staff away from the targeted items, whilst another acted as lookout, and a fourth man unlocked the cabinet, then relocked it before making an exit.

Images of the thieves at Top Banana were recorded on four of the centre’s cameras which have been given to the police for review.

Antiques dealers and owners of centres and shops, especially in the Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire regions, are being urged to be extra vigilant.
