Oak side table designed by Jeffry Wyatt – £35,000 at Christie’s.
This would probably have originally sported a marble top from the Duke's own Devonshire mines but it now has a modern replacement. The table was withdrawn from Christie's main Endsleigh contents sale in September after its status as part of the fixtures and fittings was queried. With its saleable status now resolved, it was offered with the same £30,000-50,000 estimate, selling at the lower end of expectations for £35,000 to the London trade.
