John Sinclair and John Murphy, who as JJ Fairs have organised the antiques and collectables fairs at Rye’s Community Centre for the past 20 years, are rebranding themselves next year and will be calling their fairs JJ Collectors’ Markets, thus bringing the number of markets held in the town to five.
At their collectors’ markets they are reducing the price of double tables from £20 to £15. Their first Collectors’ Market is at Rye Community Centre on Sunday January 21, with JJ Fairs last antiques and collectables fair of the year being held at the Village Hall in Headcorn, Kent. Still at the centre and Patricia Stamp is setting up her own antiques and collectors’ fairs at the Community Centre in Rye. She currently stands at JJ Fairs with her husband John Wheeler, who as JW Prints deals in decorative and topographical prints and maps.
Champagne Fairs will be held twice a month on Saturday, with the exception of February, September and December when there will just be one fair in the month.
“I want the emphasis at these fairs to be on quality antiques and collectables and for our first fair on Saturday, January 6 we’ll have glass, Art Deco pieces, Victoriana, small furniture, antique and collectors’ jewellery, oil lamps, silver, medals and coins.”

THERE’S a fairs reshuffle in the medieval town of Rye in East Sussex.
