The pair have been organising the highly successful 20/21 British Art Fair at the same venue for 18 years.
Art on Paper was launched in 1999 as a fair solely for original work on paper, although sculpture was introduced in 2002 and work on other surfaces has subsequently crept in. It was therefore decided to expand the event to include work on all surfaces from all over the world, with the stipulation it was created post-1900.
Some 50 stands are envisaged and it is hoped the fair will retain a strong paper content to maintain continuity with Art on Paper, which has built up a loyal following. Nevertheless the new fair will have a wider appeal.
A number of potential exhibitors have previously been deterred by the narrow parameters of Art on Paper. Nor will it be lost on fairgoers that the paper fair was limited by its proximity in the calendar to both the Watercolours & Drawings Fair and the London Original Print Fair.
Art on Paper to relaunch as international art event
LONDON-based organisers Gay Hutson and Angela ‘Bunny’ Wynn are relaunching their February Art on Paper as a broader-based international art fair. The first 20/21 International Art Fair will be held at The Royal College of Art, Kensington from February 22 to 25, 2007.
