The Burnetts held a spring and autumn fair at the house for 17 years and have now asked David Smedley of Smedders Fairs to raise the profile of their events. David has organised fairs in Kent for nine years, at Otford, Bromley and Matfield, and will hold his first Antiques and Collectors' Fair at Finchcocks Museum on the weekend of October 14-15.
David, who deals in silver, said: "We have 18 dealers in the house selling antiques and two marquees outside. One has 40 dealers selling antiques and collectables and the other will offer selected upmarket handicrafts, like bookbinding and wood-turned pieces.
"It will be a good weekend; there's a restaurant here and music will probably be playing at the house - we already have a coachload booked."
Finchcocks mansion was inherited by Edward Bathurst in 1718, who, following his marriage to a wealthy heiress, was able to "rebuild this seat at Great expense and in a most stately manner". Down the centuries Finchcocks changed hands regularly and prior to 1971, when it was bought by Richard Burnett, it was owned by the Legat Ballet School for ten years.
