At around 2.30pm the thief was captured on CCTV leaving the gallery on Lowndes Street with the 18in (47cm) high ‘Minerva’ table clock.
The white male of medium height, aged about 40, was wearing a horizontally dark and white striped top, jeans and trainers. He made off with an accomplice in a dark blue Citroen but not before a passer-by recorded the registration number as LEO6 AVD.
