After three years of discussions, an overwhelming 93 per cent of the participating membership voted to support the amalgamation at NAVA’s spring conference.
NAVA will be joining the newly created National Federation of Property Professionals (NFOPP).
The federation has been created as an umbrella body encompassing NAEA, NAVA, the Association of Residential Letting Agents, and the Institution of Commercial and Business Agents. Other related professional bodies are also in discussion about joining.
Effectively this means that NAVA will merge with the auctioneering division of NAEA to create an association of over 600 members. For the first year, the Federation’s auctioneering division will be jointly chaired by current chairman of NAVA, Neil Davey, and the chairman of NAEA’s auctioneering committee.
Full and final integration is expected in the summer by which time the Federation will be administered from newly acquired offices in Tournament Court, Warwick with a full-time staff of 30.
NAVA are hoping that the new structure will allow them to bring about a raising of auctioneering standards as well as develop new education programmes. They are planning to eventually introduce a licensing scheme for auctioneers, valuers and estate agents.

THE National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) has voted to merge with the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA).
