Marc Burgoin of Arthur Swallow Fairs said: “We tried this out at our April fair and it was a big success. We thought Wednesday was going downhill but giving free entry on that day was a big boost to both buyers and sellers, with people coming from everywhere, some for the first time. So we’re continuing with free Wednesday entry for the next four events.”
Also a big hit with everyone, particularly the stallholders, was the giant marquee which the fair organisers also used for the first time in April. Said Marc: “The marque is 260ft x 100ft and holds a maximum of 230 dealers. It was great to see all the stallholders under one roof. We haven’t had a waiting list for two years and there was one for this marquee in April. There are now only eight spaces left in it for our May fair.”
