The break-in took place just after midnight on March 14. Thieves climbed a ladder at the side of the Grade ll listed 17th century barn, meticulously removed eight panes of glass from the small window, disarmed the alarm, cut out the heavy iron bars and slid through the opening.

They removed 83 Royal Doulton figures (including a number of rare issues), 32 Royal Crown Derby animal paperweights and 58 pieces of silver including vinaigrettes, scent bottles and vesta cases.

A heavy gent's gold ring incorporating seven diamonds was also taken by thieves who fled across an open field to the A28, where their vehicle waited.

The centre still hold numbered certificates for some of the Doulton limited edition figures and images of several prototype figures and the rare Deco figure Scotties.

Anyone with information relating to the theft should contact Kent Police. The case number is FY/300808 and the investigating officer detective sergeant Mark Buck.
