In a separate letter sent out in June, dealers were invited to apply for new annual licences to trade from one half of the premises at 105-107 Portobello Road.
The other half of the premises has been leased to an as-yet unspecified tenant.
Around 20 dealers previously operated from the arcade at the Saturday market and some who are leaving are considering applying for space elsewhere in Portobello.
The landlady of The Van Arcade, Sheila Cook of Sheila Cook Textiles, told ATG that the whole process had been “amicable and democratic”, adding that the remaining space was now fully occupied.
