A Shropshire dealer wearing a new pair of trousers at the October 7-8 fair was dismayed to find a pocket to the leg, where he often kept his cash, had been cut with a sharp blade. Fortunately no money was taken.
Having related the incident to other dealers at the Newark and Nottingham Showground, he was told this was not an isolated incident and was introduced to a Derbyshire dealer who had lost his money in this way at an earlier fair.
