Antiques and Interiors sales were previously held every three weeks, but starting in January these events are now fortnightly. This reflects the high volume of stock the auction house currently has passing through their hands and a 40 per cent increase in turnover for general sales over the past six months.
David Elstob, auctioneer at Addisons, said: "We have seen a noticeable increase in both the number of people attending auctions and also those wishing to sell, a buoyancy largely due to the current economic climate."
In addition to these general sales (the next on February 17) Addisons host a quarterly fine art and antiques sale and a specialist garden sale in the summer.
