The vendor had bought the lot along with a number of other pirate items from an auction at Oakden & Co of Eastbourne in 1950, where they had formerly been in the collection of the late Hubert Palmer, a lawyer and collector of pirate relics.
The £800-1200 estimated lot contains an 18th-century carved oak bible box, a leather-bound King James II bible and a small oak-framed mirror, each with the initials WK next to a skull and crossbones.
