Mr Juda said he intends to "strengthen still further our representation of contemporary galleries while maintaining the society's role in promoting the interests of fine art dealers across the board".
He added: "These are not easy times for the art trade and we need to be sure that the important contribution we make to the UK economy is well understood by all those who have an influence over our affairs."
