Speakers from both the commercial and academic world will include: Errol Manners (The investigation of a mysterious early tea bowl), John Sandon (To Hold More Toast and Cyder-Moggs: Muggs and Foaming Jugs in British ceramics), Ivan Day (Transparent delights: Staffordshire kitchen and dairy moulds in the 18th century), Ann Eatwell (Designing for the table), Philippa Glanville (The art of drink 1600 to 1800; choosing silver, glass or ceramics), Robin Emmerson (Supping with the Enemy: 18th century British dinning culture and the French), James Lomax (Epergnes, Surtouts and 'Grands platts menages': silver and ceramic centrepieces) and Sir Brian Harrison and Ian Holmes (Drink and the Victorians: Temperance and the War on Alcohol).
The day starts at 11am and concludes with a three-course dinner in the 1851 restaurant overlooking the Albert Memorial. The cost for ECC members is £110 per person or £130 for non-members. This includes admission to Art Antiques London, lectures, refreshments and dinner.
