Wilton House Car Boot Fair
Now in its 34th year, the annual Wilton House Mammoth Car Boot is held in aid of the local Rotary Club, with the event on Monday, August 29, featuring around 1000 boots from which to buy.
On the subject of boots, stamina and stout shoes might be needed for the 5000 visitors who tramp round this event, held in a small corner of the Earl of Pembroke’s estate near Salisbury. And as it’s only on for four hours, that’s 250 boots-an-hour to be trawled through – hardly time for a bacon sarnie stop.
For sellers, access is from 6-9am, while public admission is from 9am.

One of the most popular fleamarkets on the circuit for both trade and collectors is the Malvern Flea and Collectors’ Fair, which runs almost every month.
The next event is on Monday, August 29, at the Three Counties Showground at Malvern in Worcestershire.
The setting is gorgeous too with a backdrop of the Malvern Hills, and its rural location sees plenty of vintage agricultural implements for sale.
But lots of other fleamarket staples are available too: enamel advertising signs and homeware, pottery, armchairs, weighing scales and chapel chairs to name a few.
This fair starts early at 7.30am for both trade and public so if you want to beat the likes of dealer Drew Pritchard of Salvage Hunters fame, get there early: it’s his favourite fair.
St Ives Antiques Fair

Established for more than 35 years, the two-day St Ives Antiques Fair in the riverside Cambridgeshire town has been co-organised by Linda Parkhouse for the past five years as Day Out Events. It is now run by Linda and her husband Andrew.
Of the forthcoming event, held six times a year with the next on August 28-29, Linda says: “We have 51 dealers standing at this event which means we are very nearly full. We have a good footfall here – around 1000 over the two days, many of whom have become regular buyers.”
Talking publicity, she added: “We have just invested in extra road signage which seemed to have had a beneficial effect at the last fair over the late May Bank Holiday weekend, with greater numbers than ever before visiting us over the two days of the event.”
The fair is held at the Burgess Hall in Westwood Road, St Ives.
