The auction house is opening a pop-up shop on Friday for the weekend at its saleroom on Avenue Matignon in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

Instead of auctioning off the 80 lots, shoppers will be able to buy the selection at a fixed price.

Items include wine, champagne, handbags, art and jewellery. A preview for the event will begin on Thursday 15 December.

Edouard Boccon-Gibod, managing director of Christie’s France: “For the first time in France, we are offering handpicked items for a fixed price without having to bid.  Whether you are new to auction or a regular customer at Christie’s, join us to discover our selection of items and buy a unique present for Christmas.”

The lots for sale include a crocodile skin Hermès Birkin 35 bag in rose schéhérazade priced at €3500 (£29,500), a Table bleue by Yves Klein with a price tag of €22,000 (£18,500), a Fabergé bracelet at €4500 (£3800), three Chanel snow globes at €800 (£670) each and a limited edition Methuselah bottle of Dom Pérignon champagne in a case priced at €3600 (£3010).
