In March, High Road announced the saleroom was closing for refurbishment but last week the decision to merge operations with their Chiswick operation was taken “for purely commercial reasons”, said Chris Blackie, a company founder.
The Twickenham saleroom opened two years ago.
“We gave it our best shot but the higher costs in Twickenham, including the business rates, and the different demographics were against us,” he added.
David Holmes, manager at Twickenham, and most of his team will move to High Road’s Chiswick base which is expanding its operations to include more special sales.
