New ILAB president Gonzalo Fernandéz Pontes and new vice president Sally Burdon

Gonzalo Fernandéz Pontes, whose Madrid bookshop specialises in travel, exploration and Spanish history, was elected the new president. He replaces Norbert Donhofer of Austria under whom he served as vice president. He has dealt in rare books for nearly 28 years and was also previously ILAB’s security chair.

Sally Burdon of Australia was elected vice president. She works in her family’s shop, Asia Bookroom and has also served as organiser of the worldwide ILAB Pop Up Book Fairs on UNESCOS’s World Book & Copyright Day.  

Other committee members include Rob Shepherd (UK) as treasurer, Michel Bouvier (France) as general secretary and Stuart Bennett (USA), Fabrizio Govi (Italy), Rober Schoisengeier (Austria) and Michael Graves-Johnston (UK) as committee members.  

ILAB is the international umbrella organisation for rare book trade associations such as the UK's ABA.
