Around 80 dealers from Sweden and Denmark stand at what the organisers describe as “a trade secret amongst Swedish dealers” but is reckoned to be the third biggest fair in Sweden after Stockholm and Helsingborg.
According to Swedish dealer Daniel Larsson, who is on the fair’s advisory board, the range of goods spans around 30% mid-century to 70% antique, with some folk art plus high-end pieces and paintings.
This year’s dates are August 26-28 for the public with a trade preview from August 24 to midday on August 26.
Busy Trade Day
Pictured here is exhibitor Joakim Hansson of 1700 Antiques in Loddekopinge, surrounded by some of the pieces he will be taking to this year’s fair. Hansson specialises in restoring and supplying antiques from the 18th and 19th centuries, especially those with their original painted surface.
He has exhibited at the fair for the last three years and finds it a good place to meet new customers especially with the growing number of visiting US and UK dealers. On the first trade day dealers are allowed in while the exhibitors are unpacking “so it’s pretty hectic” says Hansson.
Among the pieces shown here are an early 19th century console table with dolphin supports and original gilding; a transitional rococo Mora clock and an 18th century Swedish rococo cupboard taken back to the original paintwork.
