An oil on canvas by Dunbar called Joseph’s Dream was knocked down at £60,000 (plus 22.5% buyer’s premium).

The same buyer then placed the winning bid on a painting by Garwood (latterly Mrs Eric Ravilious). Nathaniel and Patsy, two donkeys in a stable with chickens was hammered down for £24,000 on May 11.

Both works came from the collection of the Cambridge County Council school fund, which has been consigned to the auction house in its entirety.
