The Yongzheng (1723-35) mark and period dish, decorated to both sides with white flowering blossoms borne on leafy branches, is similar to another in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The 13in (33cm) dish was valued on the Roadshow two decades ago at £20,000.
According to details from the family who inherited the object, it was acquired in the early 20th century by Alexander Robertson (1861-1922). Born in Thornhill, Scotland, he emigrated first to Canada and then America.
On his death, all his possessions were shipped back to Edinburgh where they were divided between relations. The dish was sold by a vendor in south Derbyshire.
Hansons reported Chinese buyers had attended the auction in their saleroom in Etwall, Derbyshire.
It was offered as part of its Fine Arts and Asian auction with an estimate of £25,000-35,000.
