First-time exhibitors this year are Anne Autegarden from Belgium, Portuondo from the UK and Spain, DIMOREGALLERY and Rossana Orlandi from Italy. Seven dealers attend from France, where the London event’s older sister fair, PAD Paris, originated. The French galleries are Alexandre Biaggi, Nicolas Bourriaud, Marcilhac, Ma Tei, Meubles et Lumieres, Mouvements Modernes and Perpitch & Bringand.

PAD runs from October 2-8 in Berkeley Square, Mayfair. It features a range of art and design specialists.

Photography set aside for “sharper focus”

Among the 14 galleries not down to return this year are modern art dealer Richard Green and all three photography specialists that showed at last year’s fair. These were Michael Hoppen, Daniel Blau and last year’s best stand award-winner Hamiltons.

In a statement to ATG an organiser said that the fair has decided to “sharpen and broaden” its focus on collectible design.

A spokesperson added: “The fair keeps its eclectic touch with the participation of tribal arts, Asian arts, jewellery and antiquities specialists along with a few select art galleries, who might bring photography and modern masterpieces, but the main accent will be on design as it is PAD’s unique niche.”
