Trinder, president of recently-renamed auctioneer body NAVA Propertymark and a former chairman of Antiques Young Guns, leaves Wotton after five years and will start at Dawson's in Maidenhead, Berkshire on March 6.

Dawson's was launched by Aubrey Dawson, an auctioneer and probate valuer for the past 17 years, and his business partner at the end of last year. Following its first sale in January, the firm plans to host a monthly auction alongside six specialist sales a year including Asian art, silver, jewellery and militaria.

Trinder will be one of Dawson’s principal auctioneers with responsibility to develop specialist departments.

“I am very sad to leave Wotton Auction Rooms but am ready for the next chapter,” Trinder said.

“Dawson's is run by a young, energetic team – with no one aged over 40 – and with excellent plans and aspirations for the future.”
