The Brighton Lanes Antique Centre in Brighton Square has been run by Peter and Rebecca Brynin since 1998.
It will shut on January 21 when Peter Brynin, 69, retires after more than half a century in the trade.
He told ATG: “I have been in the Lanes since 1998 and I have been in the trade for 53 years. It is a family business with my two daughters working beside me.
“I am a very proud father. My eldest daughter Livia has decided to go back to university to study law and my youngest daughter Claudia wishes to continue in the trade.”

The store’s Instagram page @brightonlaneantiques which focuses on antique jewellery will continue to be run by Claudia.
Two decades ago when the centre opened, antique shops in the Lanes were still common. While antiques can still be found in the north Lanes area of Brighton, the Brynins shop is deemed the last of its kind in the area.
