The works are called St Pancras Arches of Blue and The Golden Age of Steam and were made in the company’s brick factory in Stoke-on-Trent.
The designs are part of the ‘Celebrate St Pancras – the people, the place, the journey’, series of events and exhibitions commissioned by railway company HS1 for the anniversary year.
The items will be sold online and at the station’s 150th Anniversary Store.
William Moorcroft (1872-1945), an art school graduate and the son of a Burslem china painter and designer, founded his own company in 1912. Prior to that he was a designer at James Macintyre & Co.
The Moorcroft company went through a number of different ownerships and in 1998 a new design studio was established Its Stoke-on-Trent home boasts a Grade II-listed bottle oven, museum and visitor centre.
While recently made pieces are widely collected, and some of the modern limited edition pieces bring substantial sums, it is the older pieces, particularly the William Moorcroft signed and designed pieces which are most sought-after by collectors.
Prices begin at around £20 and climb to five-figure sums at auction for the largest pieces.
