Established 11 years ago in 2008, the Showcase was created to give younger dealers a chance to take a small stand at the venerable fair and, if successful, to eventually progress to the main fair. Since its launch more than 60 galleries have participated, with many dealers moving on to become fully fledged exhibitors.

This year the galleries who have been selected for the Showcase are:

Founded in 2009, ArtAncient, in London specialises in ancient art, numismatics, and natural history.

Brussels’ Martin Doustar specialises in archaeological and ethnographic objects.

From Antwerp in Belgium, Galerie Lowet de Wotrenge will show Dutch and Flemish works of art, from Old Master to the 18th century.

Specialist in Old Master and Modern paintings, drawings and sculpture Santa Tecla Srl, Via dei come from Padua in Italy. 

Specialist in 19th and 20th century works of art Mathieu Néouze hails from Paris.

Also from Paris, Galerie Samantha Sellem specialises in modern art. 

Earlier this year TEFAF announced a number of changes to the fair including new exhibitors with one-fifth of dealerships were new since the previous year.  It also changed its vetting panel rules.
