The preview event included the display of some of the 650 lots that will be offered at the two-day auction of the principal contents of North Mymms Park on April 17-18.
Guy Schooling, chairman of Sworders, said: “This is probably the most important house contents we have sold during my 30 years with the firm.”
Lots from the Jacobean country pile include 19 tapestries, more than 100 paintings from 16th century panels to Victorian marines, and European, English and vernacular furniture and silver.
