In a trial at Gloucester Crown Court, Craig McShane, 39, who runs two antiques shops, and his 62-year-old father Mark Hawkins from Cheltenham, were accused of breaking into Taylor Black jewellers in Tetbury on June 29, 2016, with intent to steal.

According to the Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard, during the trial the pair had claimed they were the victims of mistaken identity and flawed circumstantial evidence.

The pair were bailed to await sentencing.
