Robyn Orovwuje-Forbes has received a Christie’s Education's inaugural Reginald Browne scholarship.

Covering full tuition fees and a living expenses bursary for the academic year 2019-20, this is the first year such scholarships have been awarded. The scholarship was created from a donation by financier Reginald Browne.

Browne said: “I am pleased to partner with Christie’s Education to provide opportunities for diverse candidates to gain entry into the art business. The motivation behind this initiative is to expand scholarship in the study of the visual arts, which will in turn broaden the expertise within the industry.“

Brighton University graduate Anderson is a writer, artist and curator, creating work that aims to highlight experiences of “queer, intersex and trans people of colour” and said the scholarship is “an important step in my career, which is steered towards creating social and economic equality in the commercial art market for young black artists and art professionals”.

Cambridge graduate Robyn Orovwuje-Forbes said the scholarship “means I can follow my dreams of working in the art world”.
