The programme will include monthly events and talks with art advisors, artists, collection managers, funds, gallerists, Christie’s specialists and other young collectors.

The scheme offers two options to join and is aimed at 25-40 year-olds with an average spend on art of around £3000-£10,000 a year.

Christie’s Education is the art institute arm of the auction house and it has launched this initiative with artist’s agent MTArt Agency.

Young Collectors pay £250 per year to take part in the full programme while paying £650 a year enables members to become Young Patrons who receive an artwork from MTArt Agency and the opportunity to upload works to the database of consultancy Vastari which connects museums with the private sector.

The first event will take place on October 17 at Christie’s Education in London.

Glen Hardwick-Bruce, a programme director at Christie’s Education and co-founder of the Young Collectors Club, said: “Through monthly meetings, young collectors, and those thinking of establishing a collection, will be able to engage and network with like-minded individuals... By educating and introducing them to various collecting categories, we believe that we play an important role in giving our audience the confidence to break into the art world.”

A percentage of the membership fee will go to the Christie’s Education Trust.
