Fontaine, Rowles Fine Art and Mark Hill are among the participants scheduled for the fair’s winter edition, running from November 28–December 1 at Birmingham’s NEC. They are among those attracted to the fair since it came under the leadership of Dan Leyland and Marisa Beckman of MAD Events after years with Clarion Events.
“Our pricing policy is proving most attractive to dealers wanting to return to the fair,” Leyland said. “After introducing a reduced rate for larger stands to make the show look more impressive and give dealers more of a chance to show off their stock, a cheaper rate has now been introduced for small stands in Section 2. With the prices being almost competitive with showground fairs, the NEC is once again becoming a magnet for dealers across the UK.”
Fontaine, run by Kiel Shaw and Stuart Atkinson, is a regular at Battersea’s Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair. Rowles returns to AAFE after several years away with a selection of 19th and 20th century art. Mark Hill, well known from BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, returns after five years’ absence with a range of pieces from his private collection.
The Birmingham fair hosts around 200 dealers offering pieces priced from £20-20,000.
