Elstob & Elstob

Based in Ripon, North Yorkshire, Elstob & Elstob was founded in 2019 by former Thomas Watson Auctioneers director David Elstob and his wife Beth Elstob.

Initially holding sales at Bedale Hall, the firm relocated in early 2020 to Ripon Business Park.

David Elstob worked at Thomas Watson for six years and prior to that spent 12 years with Addisons in Barnard Castle.

In terms of name recognition in the UK, Alvar Aalto is probably outranked by the American couple Charles Eames (1907-78) and his wife Ray (1912-88). Of their output the lounge chair (670) and ottoman (671) designed in 1956 is the most iconic.
