A line-up of 34 exhibitors has been announced for the 20/21 British Art fair which returns this autumn after an enforced break.

The 20/21 British Art Fair will be relaunched next summer at the newly refurbished Mall Galleries in St James’s.

Following the cancellation of the 20/21 British Art Fair, a new event has been announced that intends to fill the gap left by the loss of the established September fixture.

This year’s 20/21 British Art Fair, held in September for more than a quarter century, has been cancelled as no suitable London venue can be found.

This recently rediscovered painting of Sir Winston Churchill by Walter Sickert (1860-1942) will be offered for sale for the first time at the 20/21 British Art Fair.

The First World War centenary has prompted numerous related exhibitions which have rather dominated the calendar this year as you might expect.

LONDON-based organisers Gay Hutson and Angela ‘Bunny’ Wynn are relaunching their February Art on Paper as a broader-based international art fair. The first 20/21 International Art Fair will be held at The Royal College of Art, Kensington from February 22 to 25, 2007.

OMENS could not be better for the 20/21 British Art Fair, which, from September 15 to 19, returns to its roots at the Royal College of Art, Kensington Gore, London SW7 after a couple of years down the road at The Commonwealth Institute.

Return to original Art College venue: FACED with the unexpected loss of their 2004 fair venue, the organisers of the 20/21 British Art Fair have struck a deal for a new space at short notice. Next September 15, the five-day fair will return to its previous venue, The Royal College of Art.

IF the buzz and business achieved at last week’s opening night continued throughout, then the 20/21 British Art Fair at the Commonwealth Institute in Kensington should prove one of the fair hits of the year.

OF all the imminent fairs, the one for which market omens are most favourable is the popular 20/21 British Art Fair, which will take place at the Commonwealth Institute, Kensington High Street, London W8 from September 17 to 21. While the art and antiques industry has been reeling in recent years, one area which has consistently bucked the trend is 20th century British art.

While the antiques trade no longer totally shuts down during late July and August it really gets into gear in September, a particularly intensive time for antiques fairs. There are three major fairs in the capital this month, The Chelsea Antiques Fair, The Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair and the 20/21 British Art Fair.

NOW in its 15th year, and after a few hiccups, the 20/21 British Art Fair has been on a roll for the past couple of years and its popularity should only be enhanced by its move to the Common-wealth Institute in Kensington High Street, London W8, where it will run from September 18 to 22.

AFTER a literary foray into the art world with her latest blockbuster Pandora, popular novelist Jilly Cooper will get a taste of the real thing on September 18 when she opens London’s 20/21 British Art Fair.
