Trained in Europe, she began working at Tiffany & Co under the tutelage of Donald Claflin in 1968. This suite, estimated at £5000-7000, was made shortly before she formed her own company in 1984.
Perhaps the most admired jewels Cummings produced for Tiffany in her 16-year tenure are a series of iron and gold overlay damascene cuff bracelets. Bonhams New York sold one on December 6 for $7000.
A bangle coming up for sale at Leslie Hindman in Chicago on April 23-24 (with a watch sale the following day) is estimated $7000-9000. Dating to c.1978, it is composed of overlapping circles of green gold, yellow gold and silver embedded in black lacquered iron.
