The emphasis on modern design pieces is intended to accommodate a growing interest in decorative arts among private buyers and interior designers alike.

Bringing a selection of such pieces with them, a few new dealers have joined the Petersfield fair for this edition. Art Deco specialist Jeroen Markies, for example, will attend for the first time with a range of designer furniture, and fellow debutant Peter Jeffs brings a selection of 20th century pieces including ceramics, silver and lighting.

A total of 40 dealers will stand at the event from September 8-10, runnning a week later in the calendar than previous editions.

“Our visitors come from across the south of England,” Penman says. “Scheduling our fair a week further into September, away from the end of the holiday season and after schools reopen, makes a visit to the fair more convenient.”

Returning exhibitors this year include furniture specialist Cantelo Antiques, Jupiter Antiques, bringing a range of early English porcelain, and Eastdale Antiques with early English silver.

As well as the newcomers listed above are period furniture and decorative accessories specialist Roger Lamb Antiques and Works of Art and J Swan Fine Art.

Penman adds: “It’s great to welcome several more specialists with fantastic stock.”
