The pair of Regency candelabra that sold for £11,500 at Fellows in Birmingham.
The pair is elaborately cast and chased throughout with zoomorphic representations of the four Elements – lions, dolphins, eagles and dragon heads – but the main sections carry marks for two different makers, JW Story & W Elliott and William Pitts (both London 1812).
The pair offered at the auction on October 23 will benefit enormously from a professional clean.
