This 17th century English tin-glazed earthenware model of a cat was discovered in a box of mixed china during a valuation day held by Andrew Smith & Son of Itchen Stoke in Hampshire.
Probably made in Southwark, south London, the 3in (7.5cm) high piece is estimated at £3000-5000 and will go under the hammer on July 18-19.
This Fachralo Kazak prayer rug from the south-west Caucasus is among the star lots of Netherhampton Salerooms’ carpets, rugs and textiles sale on July 12 in Salisbury.
The 4ft 7in x 4ft (1.4 x 1.22m) rug dates from the second half of the 19th century.

A painting of surprise Epsom Derby winner Sainfoin features in Chorley’s July 18-19 sale in Prinknash Abbey Park.
The British thoroughbred triumphed on a wet and heavy track at Epsom in 1890, despite being an outsider at 100/15. The unusually small field of just eight runners was soon led by Sainfoin and he held on to win by three quarters of a length.
The 2ft 3in x 2ft 11in (69cm x 89cm) oil on canvas was painted by Adrian Jones (1845-1938) and is estimated at £2000-3000.
A pair of French paintings by the Australian artist Bessie Ellen Davidson (1879-1965) will feature in Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood’s two-day sale on July 11-12.
Influenced by Impressionism, Davidson produced most of her work while on stints in Paris, the southern French coast and the Basque region of Guéthary. Alongside strong landscapes, her other subjects include closely observed and characterful portraits and floral still-lifes that have a strong Scottish Colourist influence.
Pictured here is Fleurs, a 15 x 12½in (39 x 32cm) still-life of pink roses in a jug dated to 1942 and estimated at £3000-5000. A smaller coastal view of Marseille is estimated at £1000-1500.
