The venue is on the edge of the Cotswolds and has historically hosted a number of other antiques fairs. Though Penman Fairs currently holds to the established two-day fair schedule, in the event of continued interest it could be extended to three days.
The event features 40 exhibitors, including a number of first-timers for this edition such as watch specialist J&P Herbert, David Hartwright bringing a selection of tapestries and needlework, and Scandinavian by Design with 20th century design. Also taking a stand this year is the local Burford antiques centre Antiques @ the George, which offers a selection of books, furniture, toys, pottery and glass.
Other exhibitors include Genena’s Antiques Dolls, Mulberry Fine Art and S&J Abbott Ceramics Plus.
Objects are offered at prices from under £25 to more than £10,000. Organiser Caroline Penman says the assortment of art, antiques and decorative pieces at the inaugural fair last year was “just what people wanted”. Although the fair is not formally vetted, Penman adds that the organisers “look out for any mistakes, repros or misleading items and remove them”. There is no dateline for objects included.
