Your piece states that this was only the second time a painting by Dunbar has appeared at auction, following another at Sworders recently.
This is untrue. The first paintings by Dunbar to appear at auction since her death happened six years ago, in July 2011 at TW Gaze in Diss.
A trio of paintings was for sale, including what is still the only major example of her work as a war artist to have been sold since the war: the wonderful Land Girls Stooking.
I know this because I bought all three Dunbar lots on offer that day, for £5100 hammer. They later formed part of my annual war art show, Holding the Line, in November 2011.

The sale at TW Gaze to which you refer does not feature on the databases we use for fact checking – proof that even with the increasing sophistication of database technology some sales can go under the radar.
